ROTATION AND REVOLUTION

ROTATION

It is the movement of the Earth around itself, one spin. It takes 24 hours or 1 day.

Times of the day

-When the sun is high in the sky, it is midday.

-When the sun comes up in the morning, it is sunrise.

-When the sun goes down, it is sunset.

REVOLUTION

-The Earth moves around the Sun and it takes 365 days or 1 year to complete the orbit of the Sun. This is called revolution.

-The movements of the tilted Earth cause the seasons.

-The seasons are: 

     -Summer: 21st June – 20th September

     -Autumn: 21st September – 20th December

     -Winter: 21st December – 20th March

     -Spring: 21st March – 20th June
